Change is the only constant in business, and for Ferrell’s clothing store in Idaho Falls, that means a third relocation in its storied history. But this move isn’t just about changing addresses; it’s about growth, accessibility, and meeting the evolving needs of its loyal customers. Here’s the full story, along with other buzzing business news from eastern Idaho.

IDAHO FALLS

Ferrell’s Clothing Store Opens in New Location

After seven years in their previous spot, Ferrell’s has set up shop in a new building near the Grand Teton Mall. The iconic men’s apparel store, now located at 2261 East 17th Street in Idaho Falls, officially opened its doors on Monday in what was once the Seagull Book location.

Owners Dana and Teneal Wright shared with EastIdahoNews.com the reasons behind this latest move. But here’s where it gets interesting: while the new space is slightly smaller at 5,400 square feet compared to their previous 5,500-square-foot location, Dana explains that the sales floor is larger, and the backroom space is more efficiently designed. “We wanted a bit more room for customers to browse,” Dana said. “The previous location had a bigger back area than we needed, so this layout works better for us.”

And this is the part most people miss: accessibility was a major factor. The previous location on 25th East required a U-turn and had only one entrance, which Dana believes cost them business. “This new spot has better traffic flow, multiple entrances, and a stoplight right there,” he added. “It’s just easier for customers to get in and out.”

Ferrell’s in-house tailor, Kristi Eldridge, who runs In Stitches Alterations, has also made the move. “She’s right here with us, just on the other side of the wall,” Dana noted.

For decades, Ferrell’s has been a go-to destination for young men preparing for missions with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While they’re still known for their men’s dress suits, Dana revealed they’ll soon offer suit rentals—a service customers have been asking for. Is this a game-changer for the store? Only time will tell.

The Wrights took over the business in 2018 from Teneal’s father, Brent Tueller, who bought it in the 1980s from original owner Dave Anderson. The store first opened in 1950 at what was then JCPenney’s, and before that, it was located several blocks east where Destinations Inn now stands. The Wrights sold their previous Broadway building to local contractor Jayce Powell in 2019, who remodeled it. It was recently purchased by Justin and Valerie Miller under Rare Earth Enterprises LLC, though their plans for the space are still under wraps.

Dana is excited about the new location, especially its proximity to other men’s stores. “We’re right next to Work Wear House and Bob’s Indoor Golf,” he said. “It’s great to be in a hub of men’s shopping.” The store will maintain its regular hours—10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday—and plans a grand re-opening in April.
